Kramer KNE GGG Tele

Re: Kramer KNE GGG Tele

Got to play it for about 45 minutes and tweak/fine tune it. Plays well as I had hoped and parts all went together really nicely; Strings perfectly centered across Fretboard, no gaps in the neck and low action. Still dialing the pickup in as it was a Custom Shop ‘78 TB that got damaged so I sent it in for a rewind as a “Slightly Hotter” RTM TB. It’s got a bit more grit and girth to its tone than the other RTM TB I currently have and a prior one I owned.

Looks awesome. Love the interesting grain on the ash body. I put together a guitar a few years back with KNE alder sandimas body with KNE maple hockey stick neck, with OFR and brass block, and it has the most sustain of any bolt on guitar I've played. Leaving your ash body natural was a smart move. Love to hear how she plays.

Re: Kramer KNE GGG Tele

Very glad my buddy did an awesome job on the setup of this guitar. He is the real deal and very inexpensive if you ask me compared to GC. How is the RTM work with the ash body?

I was talking to Metalchurch79 last evening and we are both sort of in the same mindset that we are both over big ceramic pickups, so i would like to know what a massive 17k+ wind sounds like with an A2 mag.

Re: Kramer KNE GGG Tele

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words. Let’s see a pic of your KNE!

Sure thing. I posted some pics a few years back but here she is tonight.

Bought an unfinished alder San Dimas body and maple neck from KNE. Did all the assembly myself, gunstock stain for the body and finished in tru oil. OFR with brass block. Initially had Dimarzio Super Distortion and 36th Ani PAF, then the classic JB/59 combo and now a Custom Custom and Pearly Gates. They all sounded awesome but these are the best for this guitar. I live pretty near Oxnard where KNE is from so got to pick up the parts in person. The guy who owns it is a cool guy and we chatted about Van Halen for quite a while!

That turned out great Jimmy! Nice job!
I always had a good talk with Mitch anytime we spoke and he seems really nice and easy to work with. What I found was nice is that he does lefties at the same price which is really cool. I need to get him a body tracing he requested so I might have him make me one as well so maybe here soon Ill have another project myself to mess with.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing; I always like to see other peoples projects and that one turned our very well.

Jimmy, what brand of stain did you use? I really like the color of that. The Maple and chrome on both you and DeWayne's project look equally awesome!

If I remember right, it was Birchwood Casey walnut stain and tru oil used for staining gunstocks. I don't know what I'm doing with spray painting and guitar finishing so the wood stain and tru oil was easier for me to use.

Final pic in better lighting and with a new strap that my son had made for me while he was on a mission trip to Rwanda a couple years ago.
