Kramer / Southeast Guitars Project Forthcoming...

Re: Kramer / Southeast Guitars Project Forthcoming...

After careful reconsdieration, rather than taking any chance on screwing up Warren's/Southeast Guitars fine craftsmanship on this body, I called the gentleman who was going to route the body for the PGBJ/SDS-1 and had him hold off. I will be picking up the body this evening and will finalize the finish w/Tru-Oil over the next week.

Once the body finish work is done, I will have it assembled with the uncovered 1989 Gibson "The Original" HB-R/OBL German 450 Dual Blade SC/1989 Gibson "The Original" HB-L pickups...FULL ON BILL LAWRENCE CIRCUIT BOARD DESIGN!!! :headbang:

They'll be wired up to a Gibson 500K Volume/Fender 5 Way Super Switch/Fender TBX/Vintage Kramer Cannon Jack.

Re: Kramer / Southeast Guitars Project Forthcoming...

Those old Bill Lawrence pickups kick some serious ass man! You will like!

Re: Kramer / Southeast Guitars Project Forthcoming...

I agree! I've had a half dozen sets of the HB-R/HB-L and have held on to three; currently have a Chrome Matched Set in my Kramer Maple Board Ash Tele...

...a Gold Matched Set that will probably wind up in my '82 Candy Apple Red LP Standard and this Uncovered/Black Matched Set that will be in the BCR/SEG.

The OBL 450 is new to me though but at 12.33K with splitting capabilities it should kick ass!

I call dibs on that neck if you ever put it up for sale! That's sexy!

The OBL450's are very similar to the L250's Bill quit making in 06 or 07...I can't remember the year. Despite the really high DC resistance for being a single coil, they actually have a lot of chime to them. Very cool pickups for sure! I wish I still had my original L250's, but at least Bill is making the L45's now!

Cool...thanks for the info...didn't really know what to expect from the 450.

Thanks, it's one of only two Vintage Kramer Fully Bound Maple Fretboard Necks that I know of or have ever seen or heard of anywhere on the web, including The Kramer Forum - the other one is a "Righty" owned by a Kramer Forum Bro (NAVAJO WARRIOR) in Australia.

Makes a nice pair w/this one too!

A “Flash from the Past”! Sold this ESP Build in 2013 and it unexpectedly came back to me today!!!

1987 ESP Horizon Rosewood Neck on a 2011 Southeast Guitars Custom 2 Piece Center Joined Mahogany Body, DiMarzio PAF Pro/DiMarzio Single/Tone Zone F, DiMarzio 500k Push:Pull Volume/Sambora Angled 5 Way/Fender TBX Tone, Vintage 1988 OFR - basically an ESP Eclipse Custom.

Really nice! I was a bit disappointed to see that this was an older thread, though, as South East Guitars are missed. Do you know if the owner is okay? I tried to get in touch with him 2-3 years back, when the site was still around, but no such luck.

Wow, that's an ESP that even I would really like!

I’m not sure what Warren Parker’s Guitar Building status is theses days. If I recall; he got more involved in his real/day job and pretty much closed shop on Southeast Guitars. He certainly built some high quality absolutely beautiful bodies when he was doing them.

Yes, it is really a pity that he is gone. I had heard rumours of health problems, but if that is wrong that is excellent. But yes, I have heard nothing but good things about his work, and he was the right person to go to if you wanted to make something else than a Frankenstrat or 5150.

Re: Kramer / Southeast Guitars Project Forthcoming...

That's awesome you go that back DeWayne! That neck is awesome and I also like how the switch is turned like the Kramer Sambora.

Does it sound and play like you remembered?

Re: Kramer / Southeast Guitars Project Forthcoming...

Too bad about the pointy. That could have been one gorgeous guitar.

Re: Kramer / Southeast Guitars Project Forthcoming...

Sold the ESP Neck a while back and have had the SEG Body up for sale but, with no interest, I'm going to put it together with one of the two maple necks I have...I am leaning towards the Musikraft Nanner with Gold Hardware/Floyd over the Warmoth Reverse with Black Hardware/Floyd...The Banana Neck was my original intent with this guitar build back when I envisioned it in 2001.

Progressing and found a few like minded individuals with similar builds...although I think I am going to go with all black hardware rather than the gold.
