Badass. Get it. Replace those EMGs with Distortion set or JB/59 combo then rock the snot out of it.

Re: Kramer Voyager

Not my type but it is awesome in its own league.

A friend has a Kramer Vanguard of the same era (I assume but maybe I'm wrong). Man it's one of the best V's I've ever touched.

Well...I just settled into a new place and thought..."hmm...I feel like doing a project again"...so I picked up what was listed as a 1982 Kramer Voyager Neck (the Scalloped 10-22 Fret one from eBay, professional scallop by a luthier in L.A.) and the seller was gracious enough to offer me the Matching Body with Cavity Covers and Original "B" Neck Plate B8094 (not listed on the Vintage Kramer Registry) at a great price so I picked up the "Lightning Bolt" Graphic Body as well...I am going to have to snag a Floyd, Schallers, Nut (ALL IN BLACK) and electronics to get it functional, but, it will be getting a SD "Slash" Signature in the Neck...

Re: Kramer Voyager

Thanks ErikH! It should be just a matter of reassembly once I get the parts. From the pics of it together, everything seems to line up nice one the neck. I will be lemon oiling the Hell out of the neck once I get it. Should be quite the player.

Get it.

Rock it.

Keep it. ;)

Ha! Ain't that always my challenge!!! I had been looking locally at picking up either an ESP XJ-6 or a Mesa 5:50 Studio 1x12 but couldn't bring myself to drop a grand on the Mesa, and, although very nice, the XJ-6 just didn't "identify" itself to me in a way that made me get to the "I have to have this" point of purchase.

So...I figured I'd pick up the Scalloped Maple Neck and take some time to find a body, etc. and it worked out nicely with the offer of the Original Body that went with the neck as well.

My only experience w/the Explorer Shape is from a DT400 that I picked up and sold prior to fully assembling and with a Gibson E2 that was at the local MGR for quite some time. At any rate, it'll be fun to get the Voyager up and running. :fingersx:

There shouldn't be any need to oil that neck. It's maple. Just wipe it down with a lightly damp cloth to clean it up. If it needs any finish from wear over the years just wipe on some poly satin. It's probably got a poly finish on it anyway.

The neck has had the finish removed from everything but the front and back of the headstock. I always Lemon Oil raw maple necks and very much like the feel. Cleans, tints, conditions and feels very smooth after a few coats.
