KT66 vs EL34 Blind Test

In the following files are several recordings, which I have labeled "Mystery Meat" and "Super Sausage". They are the same riffs but in different settings and tube options. Listen to each variety and vote on which you prefer and or perceive to sound better.

This is in a Mesa Boogie Simul-Satellite amp. (read: Clean Channel of Mark III) All distortion comes from an Ibanez SD9 into a SM9. OD is a Ibanez EQ10 pushing the tubes.

Each clip contains a riff played 3 times:

1st time: Bridge Pickup
2nd time: Rythm Pickup
3rd time: Rythm Pickup w/ Q filter all the way down

This clip is played first with Mystery Meat tubes, then with Super Sausage tubes.

All KT66:
Simul-Class (all 4 tubes) then Class A (outside pair only).

KT66/EL34:
Simul-Class (2x KT66 and 2xEL34) then Class A( 2x EL34 only).

I can't reveal that until the end. I cannot conforim nor deny your hypothesis. That would ruin the experiment. To clarify the setup, One configuratin is ALL KT66, one is with a mix of KT66 and EL34. In Simul Class a 4 powertubes are active, KT66 or mix of KT66/EL34. In class A its either ONLY 2 KT66s or 2 EL34s.
