Kustom High Voltage

Has anyone had any experience with the new Kustom HV series amps? I'm thinking about getting the 30 watt for a practice and backup amp. I'm interested in a smaller modern-sounding digital amp under 300 bucks - this Kustom looks like the most solid amp that can still hook to an external cab. But since they're pretty new, there aren't many reviews up - so has anyone play tested them or anything?

I have a practice Kustom a 16 watter. I love the thing, Build like a tank, had it for like 4 years no problem, great tone for a transistor shoe box, takes pedals great, cd line in has great mix to jam along things, Red 8' celestion is great little bustard. A real spring reverb, that is trully great, I wish my Laney had that reverb. They are great company if you dont care for modeling and just want the best tone possible from a transistor - get Kustom.

That's quite a recommendation - because I don't care so much about the effects, I just want the best tone possibles at lower volumes that I could mic or run into my cab. Would 30 watts of solid state be enough to drive a 2x12 8 ohm cab? I've only used my cab with my 50/100 watt mesa head so I don't have alot of experience with cab switching.

I will be quite about ohms, as I dont know crap about it. But if you want tone out of solid state, Kustom is it.

Dude, 10 watts will drive a cab, but the issue is headroom...if you chose the lowest power one, headroom will be minimized. As long as the amp and speaker cab are rated to the same ohms, it'll work. A friend of mine once used a tiny little "cigarette pack" amp to drive my 4x12 cab, and the amp only has 1 watt. 30 will do ya fine.
