I changed my 70's Nat. LP with 59's 10 years ago. Sounds very clean in my Fender reissue Blues Deluxe but I can't get that warm feeded back out of it like I got out of a friends standard Les Paul. Is the pick-up not HOT enough, to HOT or is it something with the amp which has been recently set up? Please help I am a player not a ele. junky.

you have a 70's lp with 59's and use a blues deluxe. were you running your friends modern lp std into your amp?

Volume and gain are your friends to achieve feedback. I have 59s in my Les Paul and have no problems getting feedback with any amp over ever used.

Put some unpotted 59"s in that guitar and it will give you a more open tone with nice feedback that sounds very musical when you push the pickups with some volume .
Best thing i ever did years ago and it really woke up my guitars switching to unpotted pickups.

Yes, my whole set up on stage. Mostly all other guitars sound that way but mine.

theres probably a few things going on. your 70's lp is probably much brighter and harder sounding naturally than a newer one.
the 59's are alnico 5 paf type pups which are vintage output and have a clean mid range.

if you cannot adjust the amp to get the sound you want, you probably want hotter pickups
