I'm waiting for the Pot to come tomorrow to wire her up and I'll let you know. The pickup is direct mounted with the FU Tone PMS as well- I have a half dozen pickups to try out in it to see which I like best
Aside from the guitar body and PMS, everything else I had lying around from prior builds.

I started off with Danish oil since I liked the feel, but it was totally clear, I wanted a golden hue. So after that I used Birchwood Casey sealer and filler, which filled the grain and added a beautiful Amber hue. After a few coats and sanding between coats, then Tru Oil spray, wet sanding with the tru oil, then a few final top coats.
Right now it's got a very high gloss, after it cures a week I'll debate whether I want to rub it out or just leave it.

Thanks guys...I just finished her- all wired, strung up, nut shimmed and fired her up through an EVH 5150 III 50 watt ...
The body resonates insanely, non musician family members were plucking strings to feel the body resonate and vibrate . It has a great loud acoustic tone.
Plugged in- it's very les paulish. I have an EVH striped, and the cleans on this guitar are greatly improved, thick and again Les Paulish. Very warm, responsive, vintagey tone that can handle the heavys, while harmonics jump off the guitar. It sounds like a more refined EVH striped, less early VH and closer to the demos you've seen of the USA made EVH Wolfgang - probably due to the pickup. Once I raised the presence on the amp a little it compensated for the warmth and bottom end
So far so good, she stays in tune great, I'm just making final tweaks. Thinking of a titanium Floyd Rose block as well, in addition to trying a few other pickups

Love it! The finish turned out awesome! I'm not a fan of gold hardware in general but that looks very sharp! Enjoy!

Well I finally set her up, wired her up and plugged her in. For comparison I played her side by side with my EVH Striped, since they have the same pickup and almost same specs, the biggest different being basswood body on the EVH Striped and Chambered Korina on this one.
They sound VERY similar, though the Warmoth has a slightly richer, more refined tone with a bottom end that growls a bit more. Again, I think I got extremely lucky and got one of the earlier EVH's that was extremely well made.
I prefer the super jumbo frets on the EVH vs the stainless medium jumbo/ 6105's on the Warmoth neck- so that may be something I change in the future.
Acoustically strumming both is like strumming 2 bells, the warmoth goes "Ding", the EVH goes "Dong". This could be attributable to the brass big block on the Warmoth and the Tungsten block on the EVH, as well as the milled brass trem claw on each.
Basically the Warmoth is a more refined, clearer toned version of the EVH, which is easier on the eyed to look at compared to the Red, White, Black striped EVH.
Side by side it's very difficult to tell the difference tone wise between the a good quality basswood and chambered Korina
