laney amp problem: screech noise

My laney vc100 is making a noise when it is on channel B with the drive engaged. I have tried different guitars and a noise supressor and so have figured that this noise is not due to the signal or guitar electronics.

The noise is only on this channel when drive is engaged, there os no other noise, so im unsure whether this is a power or pre amp tube problem ot something completly different, any help would be usefull.

I'd try swapping out some of the preamp tubes first.

Extra tubes are a needed thing to have hanging around for swap-out troubleshooting.

tap the tubes, to see if any of them is microphonic (preamp tubes)

if yes, push it into the socket so it sits firm in it.

if that doesnt help, try swapping the tubes.
