Laney amps at NAMM...

Re: Laney amps at NAMM...

All fuzz stuff has been trashed....never have the time to get one up and going!
And I am still looking for Germanium transistors....but they are close to impossible to get, well for any longer running production that is...plus they have to be paired up..or it will sound like a fart in a pig:D
I am swamped in amps...new od's, one is done, the second is done but still not greenlighted, have a third one with an interesting(useful double tone configuration)...echo testings and debugging....well Thomas is doing that:D
Quattro's....Octa-Switches...a $$€@£$chorus...sigh!
I wish we where less busy...all this serious work is dull in the long run...I wanna fiddle around with stuff that I think is fun:D

Re: Laney amps at NAMM...

but there isn't currently a VC head. Questions linger.

there isnt a vc head because VC stands for Valve Combo. The VC 100 for example had a head version VH100R.

I think what you meant was that there was no small 30W or less styled head which i would love to see as well

Re: Laney amps at NAMM...

This might end up being a rather interesting year!

Yeah, I can't wait till mid Spring when all these NAMM toys finally hit the stores.
Gone are the days when companies made amps that sounded horrible. Even the cheapest stuff nowadays sounds good. I think the art of tone has finally been perfected.

Point taken on the VC. I know you meant combo two words prior to VH100R.

I actually meant that there is no 50 or 100 watter medium gain dual channel head, which the VC series is, medium gain or classic gain as they say.

I agree with you on a 30 watt head, but the 20 watt head is right there in the vid.

Ah well, we'll find out some time about the other combo and head.

Re: Laney amps at NAMM...

If it is a restyled gh ot vh head that would be awsome, modern guts and classic styling would be killer imo.

Re: Laney amps at NAMM...

Dammit i wish i could actually see and play Laney stuff in the stores. That really pisses me off! I bought my first amp (VC50) blind, but i probly wont do that again even though i loved it. If i had the money i would buy another laney in a heart beat.

I F&^%$#g hate GC with their Mesa/Marshall racketeering. Who's grunge kid does a metal dude have to kidnap to get an Engl or a Laney in this country? I got really lucky with my AOR. Where able to get a little bit of that Brian May mojo with your VC50? I wonder which will have more of that Brian May mojo Lionheart or VC50 .... hm ....
