I'm considering purchasing a Laney LC15R? Can anyone give me links to online dealers of Laney Amps?
Thanks

Re: Laney Amps

I've been wanting clips of one of those. This guy Borislav Mitic uses a VC50 and i love his tone. Don't know how the 15 watter would sound. cool.

Massmusic may be THE place in the states for Laney amps at the moment.

I have the LC15, non-reverb version. It originally ran hot, so I had it modded to run cooler with a new PT. I added an Eminence Ramrod and now it is one hot-to-trot little amp. Fantastic value. But, heat is a known issue.

Will it do metal if you hit the front end hard?

Metal means different things to different generations. It isn't a rectifier styled amp. It would excell at classic metal.

But, it sounds good pushed with an EQ. Not, sure if it would get muddy if pushed by an overdirve.

If it sounds half as cool as it looks, that should ROCK!!!! I absolutely LOVE lower wattage tube amps!!! So much accessible tone at digestible voumes.... Not a bad ebay price either!

Re: Laney Amps

Just don't judge the LC15 by the S&S speaker that is in it.

Most people replace that speaker, but a few do like it.

And of course you can also run it through a external speaker cab.

That guy on ebay needs more than 15 tube watts for his room???? He must have no ears. Thats a good amount of volume in your house.
