Laney amps

Re: Laney amps

Note however, that you CANNOT turn these up at home, you will not get bedroom tube sounds out of a Laney. They're too loud for most people who play at home, just as a little tip. :)

Re: Laney amps

Ha, thats all you think Sune! Mine is actually really good about being quiet. I can get good tone at a low talking voice when using my weber mini-mass.

Re: Laney amps

i second the notion that it is too loud for home use, if you want to get the power toobes cooking.

i tried it today.. i dimed it all

but i had to go to the bathroom, cos i couldnt be in the same room than the amp

Yes, when using your attenuator I'm sure you can..But of course, I've only played the GH100TI, perhaps the other Laney models aren't as loud.

At least I'm not the only one saying that then :)

Re: Laney amps

i realy want to test this puppy out, in a real setting

because up loud it has the sweetest rythm tone you can hope for!

Re: Laney amps

I bet it does, and I bet mine does to, but no way in hell I'll be able to try that out at home..Jesus christ, the TI was based on the GH100S (S = stadium) ! You could play a really big place with this unmic'ed, I think. Your's is probably friggin' loud too, I bet.

Re: Laney amps

Well, my VC50 isnt quiet when turned up by a long shot. I mean, i play with my roommate (who has a drumset in our house) in our living room (~20x30 ft) and sometimes when we really want to make some noise i turn it to 5 and he will be hitting almost as hard as he can. Thats calling jamming folks. And yes, normally i do wear earplugs or at least TP wads.
