The Laney fizz and flub on the bottom is present there. Pump the mids and halve the gain, and thats what the older ones sound like.
I'm not a fan whatsoever of that kind of modern scoopy/grinding/fizzy sound..To my ears that just sounds like a crappy distortion pedal :laugh2: I much prefer his tone from the 70s. I would never have known that was Tony. Those kind of high gain nu-metal tones totally rob player personality from coming through, IMO.
