i have recently played my friend's L500xl equipped washburn N4, and i was blown away by the sound! it was crunchy, warm and harmonics jump out of the guitar! i have never heard a pup that's very warm, and at the same time, never loses its aggressiveness. does the dimebucker sound similar to the lawrence?

No, the Dimebucker does not sound the same as the XL500. In my opinion the Dime has this nasty pronounced treble to it and this super buzz saw gain to it compared to the XL500. It is alot harder to get a dime to clean up also. The XL500 has plenty of gain but, it seems to clean up and sing when playing leads (like a JB does but it is EQ'ed alot different that a JB) that the Dime does not do really at all. I find the XL500 one of, if not the most versatile pickup I have ever played and I find the Dime to be a one trick pony in comparision. Not saying the Dime is a bad pickup at all though. I am just that fond of the XL500.

And BTW, I am using a www.Billlawrence.com XL500. I have used a www.BillLawrenceUSA.com XL500 (this is the one in your bro's washburn) in the past also and there isnt alot of difference. The Bill Lawrence USA is just a tad warmer that the other.
