I thought it was a badass tune, so i learned the intro solo an hour ago. Damn that thing kicked me in the ass!! It's not that hard to get down, since there is only one fast run, but holy crap does Larry Carlton own the legato bending techniques in this one.

It's a hell of an exercise and it helps build a few non-cliche blues chops. The bends peeled the skin off the tips of my fingers!

You're seeing what others have experienced. LC's solos aren't that complicated as far as notes go, but you just can't chart what he plays. That's where his magic and spirit lie. His feel and tone are his alone.

yeah, im quickly becoming an LC freak, his playing is simple, but the note selection and phrasing are out of this world!

Too bad he's been getting into 'smooth lounge blues' lately in his new albums, he could seriously rip in a latin fusion group or something to that effect.

Steely dans music is just plain cool!!! Other than some of the lyrics are of questionable subject matter. Lee ritenour also did some sweet gutar work. Deacon blues.
