Left handed...

I am left handed and am wondering if it really makes a difference to have "left handed p/ups. I believe they are wired differently (?). Any clarification would be appreciated.

Re: Left handed...

When it comes to humbuckers they work for both rightys and leftys no difference. With single coils though u do need to buy ones calibrated to get go into a lefthanded guitar if u want it to sound as it would in a righty guitar though putting righty single coils in a lefty guitar isnt incorrect in any way infact its kinda what jimi hendrix did being a lefty that played a righty upside down but didnt flip the pickups the otha way around and it still sounds good if the pickups are good just different.

Re: Left handed...

Cool. S'kinda what I figured, but I thought I'd get outside opinions on it. Thanks!

Re: Left handed...

I think the only Seymour Duncan pickups that are made in a lefthanded version are the SSL line. Could be wrong though?

Re: Left handed...

Theres somewhere on the website where they say they make all their single coils in lefthanded but on the charts only a few say lefthanded avaliable.

Re: Left handed...

in my findings, theres very very little or no difference in sound when the single coils are flipped around in my strat........i did install right handed single coils essentially "upside down" in my strat, and it doesnt really have any special tone, other than that the pickups sound awesome heh........
