i was wondering about this one. it's obviously for a rickenbacker. in the SD FAQ, they explicitly state they do not make replacement pickups for rics. and the custom shop does not offer any (on the website). I always assumed it was due to john hall's extremely litigious trademark enforcement. maybe i was wrong?

There are already two SD/Basslines replacement pickups that fit Rickenbacker 4000, 4001 and 4003 instruments.

The neck position pickup, like Rickenbacker's, is a slightly altered guitar pickup. Duncan's looks like a Deluxe/Firebird mini humbucker.

The middle position unit resembles two Strat Hot Stacks fastened to a mounting plate. (I want to liken this pickup to a Hawkbucker but it is a very long time since I saw one.)

The housing of the new Lemmy model resembles a De Armond Dyna-Sonic. I'd like to hear one in a Fender or Squier La Cabronista P Bass.

From what I gather, he went thru a spell and is on the mend. They are coming to Jax in April!!!!

I wouldn't be so sure. They cancelled their European tour starting next month. Lemmy might be needing some more time to get better.

yeah Lemmy will be out of action for most of this year by my reckoning. in all honesty, I am not sure if he will ever be the same again after this ill health... be interesting to hear his voice though after going cleaner on the fags and booze

By what was said in the video, some specs have already changed. Off the top of my head I know there's going to be a ceramic magnet in there

Ceramic is an interesting choice..... Ceramics are normally brighter, which I can see why they would want it in a Lemmy sig PU but on the other hand, an alnico would be better as Lemmy needs more Mids rather than Highs

Look at my signature: I replaced my Rick pickups in 2003 and the custom shop even made a cover for the bridge pickup. At that time at least, they even made a mounting plate for the stock Rick plate, which I always hated.



I do not have a picture of this bass available and I'm outside the U.S. right now.

When I think Lemmy I think Ace of Spades. I am not a bass player but this would be nice if it is on the regular line.
