Lemmy signature pickup from Duncan

Re: Lemmy signature pickup from Duncan

Ceramic is an interesting choice..... Ceramics are normally brighter, which I can see why they would want it in a Lemmy sig PU but on the other hand, an alnico would be better as Lemmy needs more Mids rather than Highs

Well he's using a maple through neck rick, and rick pickups are brighter by default anyway and THEY use ceramic too (at least for the bridge), so does Duncan on their replacements. I wouldn't be surprised if it was ceramic. Plus Lemmy would probably want the output. I like alnico V generally better though anyway.

Re: Lemmy signature pickup from Duncan

Look at my signature: I replaced my Rick pickups in 2003 and the custom shop even made a cover for the bridge pickup. At that time at least, they even made a mounting plate for the stock Rick plate, which I always hated.

I do not have a picture of this bass available and I'm outside the U.S. right now.

yeah i guess i was wrong about duncans and rickenbacker. i just saw this in the FAQs and knew Hall was extremely active in protecting his trademarks.

"Do you make pickups for Rickenbacker® guitars?
Sorry, we don't make direct replacements for Rickenbacker guitars. We do offer rewinding service, which generally costs $65 for a single coil, $85 for a humbucker. If you're interested, please contact our Custom Shop at 805-964-9610 between 8 am..."

Re: Lemmy signature pickup from Duncan

At present we aren't making any other Rickenbacker pickups. The Lemmy pickups have a unique construction/visual design - but they sound exactly like the Rickenbastard bass pickups Lemmy used with tweaks based on his feedback and testing.

It will be Custom Shop.

I have half a mind to build a tele-style P Bass and use this. It would be all sorts of angry.

No Sleep Till Hammersmith. Doesn't sound like Lemmy to me though.

Its one of the roadies, happens at the end of the track before 'We Are The Roadcrew'

Re: Lemmy signature pickup from Duncan

Seriously? You just ruined a lifelong illusion.

What the heck do we pay Lemmy for?

it's obvious on the record it's not lemmy. he introduces the man as the loudest voice in any road crew, GR.
