OK im hopefully going to be getting my hands on a much-awaited Les Paul in the near future, BUT i have a dilema:
WINE RED OR TRANS BLACK?
If it were you, and you had the choice between those 2 colours, which would you choose?

wine red is classier, les pauls are generally classy guitars. wine red also ages nicer i would suppose. Les pauls besides the black beauty edition with the white pickguard really look best with sunburst, wine red or another semi transparentish color.
Does it have the white binding highlight around the edges

is it gibby or epi or summit else??? Id gone wine red, purely because i luv mine and it looks nice!!

I voted Trans Black because I have a sunburst LP and I dig those finishes. But now, come to think of it, I do love Wine Red... Decisions! Decisions!

For some reason, I've never really dug red or wine colored guitars, so I'd definitely go for the transblack. I'm really digging Gibson's new shades of blue. Shades of blue seem to be the hip trend nowadays. Dean's faded denim is really killer!
The one in my avatar is Gibson's answer to that color. Love it. For some reason, my avatar pics lately have been any color on a LP that moves me. Tiger's eye was my last one. Love that color too.

with wine red you can see the grains come through adn it looks more classy, with black you cant see it as much and from far away its harder to tell the difference that its a nice looking lespaul, or just a plain copy etc.

I say wine red with no pickguard (pickguards reck the look)

Neither!! There are tons of pauls with those colors. I really like honey burst or rootbeer the best.

im a big fan of rootbeer, but of the options

wine red with gold hardware (id rather it without binding for this combo) is just divine imo

I like wine red because it's classy.

I find glossy black Les Pauls usually look better in pictures than the do in person, I've never seen trans black in person though, so it may be different.

I voted wine red...
It's been one of my favorites for a long time. I searched for quite a while for the right one, played and looked at about 14 different wine red Classics before I found it.

I got lucky and scored a trans black limited edition Epi LP. Its a beautiful axe. The flame top is beautiful, but it is true that you probably won't see how nice the flame is in a dark room or on a stage. But I really like the black flame top with white binding, its a beautiful contrast. I put zebra SD's (C5 & '59) in it and it looks totally sexy!!! When I get a digital camera, I'll post a pic...
