I said I would post some pics of my new Jr when I got around to it so here she is with the Duncan Antiquity installed.

I still can't put it down. Just great tone and so easy to play

Here one of my Father's Day presents.

It's a sweet customized wood sign that's now proudly displayed in my Guitar/Music room. My wife got it out of the Bud catalog that's why it is Bud specific. I don't care if you bring your amp and budweiser, just an amp and beer is fine.

I get some great heavy/overdriven tones out of it but it does make some noise especially with the effects and my pickup booster pedal turned on. I'm playing in a bedroom though so I am closer to the amp than I would normally be in a regular gigging situation.

The guy in Green Day uses Jr's and Specials so it can definitely do punk type music, but, for Heavy Metal it may be just a little too noisy with all the overdrive. But I'm new to these so maybe someone with more P-90 experience will chime in?

The bridge in the SG Classic I had was noisy under high gain. Proper placement reduced the noise, but it was still there. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. If you want that sound, there is only one way to get it.

Congrats! That is one sweet looking guitar! And I bet she sounds good too!

Always wanted to try one, but I have never had the chance.

Juniors have been turning out great punk/raw rock 'n roll tone since way before him, just listen to Johnny Thunders and Mick Jones just to name two. I don't think they would would handle metal too well because of the P90s relatively loose low end.

If I were to get a Jr. then I would put on a Custom Soapbar. they are like the highest output and stuff so I think that that would help the noise

Beautiful new ax. Out of curiosity what did you think of the stock pup compared to the duncan.

Re: Les Paul Jr. Pics

P90s sound great with high gain. What I love with p90s is that you get better clarity than a humbucker. With high gain, all the notes really ring out and I bet it shines with punk/metal stuff (which is actually what I'm messing around with at the moment).

Welcome badco33 to the Gibson p90 family :fing2:
