LES PAUL LPX versus ROLAND VG/G-5/5A STRATOCASTER

Re: LES PAUL LPX versus ROLAND VG/G-5/5A STRATOCASTER

Played the original version of the Roland Strat , I really liked it alot. Didn't really have much use for the added options but could easily find a way to fit them into a setlist. Was a decent guitar and I liked the 12 string option, it was crisp like a Rick.

I have tried the VG Strat...but it didn't sound as good (and wasn't as nice of a guitar) as a James Tyler Variax.

I am a Roland VG-99 user. This has some mighty LP-based Rawk guitar patches but these never fully recreate the visceral experience of a hunk o' mahogany resonating against your body.

For some pieces, scale length is an important issue. As the virtual guitar model becomes more divorced from the trigger instrument, things become increasingly strange. e.g. Mandolin on 25.5" scale.

That LPX is just a LP shaped Firebird-X which as far as I can remember, everyone hated (because oh noes! gibson tried to be innovative...)

Checked the JT Variax out and the videos sound pretty cool...
