Les Paul pickups?

So i bought a Hamer, and i really love this guitar man. I is really a joy to play,
but i'm having a hard time getting along with the pickups.

I currently have a 59 in the neck and the antiquity bridge. The neck is a little
low on the highs, while the antiquity sounds ok, but heavy on the mids.

I'm thinkin about getting the Alnico 2 Pro for the neck, but quite confused
about the bridge choice.

I'm going for an more open sound, something more like angus, but in a les
paul, that isn't really a les paul :scratchch

Any thoughts?? :help:

The '59 doesn't have enough highs? Wow. I guess your next choice should be the Jazz. What type of sound do you want from the bridge?

Re: Les Paul pickups?

Maybe i'm beeing a little vague here, but beare with me :dunce:

Well maybe the 59 has highs enough, but the balance between the two pickups is a problem. But i've always wanted to try out the Alnico 2 Pro in the neck. Judging only from the clips on the website i prefer the sound of the A2P. Hard to tell from an mp3 though!

I'm looking for a classic rock sound, and like i mentioned before, something in the AC/DC realm. So i guess i'm really looking for a bridge pickup to go with the A2P.

I don't really like humbuckers with too much output, so maybe i'm looking at the Seth, PG or maybe something a little hotter like the Custom's?

Re: Les Paul pickups?

I think the Custom Custom is a great match for the A2P and would be an awesome pup in that guitar, though a Seth or PG might be a little closer to the AC/DC thing.
