Les Paul question

Hi everyone!

I am building an electric guitar and I wuold like to install in it an Les Paul bridge - tailpiece system.

Do you know the distance between them? I mean, how far it is the tailpiece from the bridge?

I mean, I don't need an exact answer. Just an aproximation...

Up top from center to center it's approximately 1 17/32"

Down bottom (volume and tone knob side) from center to center it's approximately 1 23/32".

The tail peice remains straight while the bottom side of the bridge angles towards the pickups a bit. That's why they are different distances. I only measured one of my Les Pauls, so I don't know if they all have the same measurements. I would think that they would.

I just measured another one and came up with the same measurements. I know they're not perfect measurements.....probably 1/32" - 1/16" off.
