Les Paul Traditional & Les Paul Traditional II questions

Pickups are different
Tuners are different I believe
The II comes with the booster

What else separates the 2?

Questions:

Is the II weight relieved or not? I'd assume not cause that's what makes it traditional right?
is the II nitro finish? On the site it just says "laquer" but doesn't specify

Re: Les Paul Traditional & Les Paul Traditional II questions

They are both weight relieved.
The tuners are the same.
Pots are push/push on the II rather than push/pull.

A buddy of mine has both and we've compared them. I've been eyeing his Trad Pro for some time. Just a sweet axe all around.

I don't think so. Or at least not now maybe? Check it out below from the Traditional description.

I had a hard time finding anything on weight relief for the II

I know that the Trad Pro is weight relieved. The Trad Pro II feels like it is and all indications online of the specs say it is. Link below is for the Trad Pro.

Also, the only change on the pickups is the bridge model. Burstbucker Pro vs Super 57.

The tuners are Grover Locking on both.

The specs on the Traditional are different than the Traditional Pros. Can't go by those.

The 50's neck is fatter and has more of a shoulder on it. Some SG's have a neck that is fat but with a little less shoulder.

50s is fatter, fills your hand more.

But is it really ''playable'' or is it a baseball bat how many people describe it. I would like to purchase a guitar with a similar neck profile to my Flying V or with a thin neck.
My SG 2005 Standard slim-taper was nice before, but doesn't feel right now to me.

Re: Les Paul Traditional & Les Paul Traditional II questions

It's playable. To me anyways. I have big hands so a fatter neck works for me. I have 2 strats with the warmoth boatneck contour.

My buddy's trad pro is 60's and the trad pro II is 50's. I don't mind the 60's neck.

I got big hands, so I'll be fine with the 50's neck then. Thanks :)
BTW.... any real differences between the two Traditionals?

Only differences that I've seen are what's been mentioned in this thread. All electronics related.

The 2 comes in 50s or 60s neck

Correct. Just so happens that when he got the Trad Pro, they didn't have a 50's neck. The 50's neck on his Pro II feels a lot like the neck on the SG Classic with just a little more shoulder on it.
