Re: Les Paul Tribute 50s...

I think the flood at the beginning of May screwed up most of them, and not many of them have been released yet.

I want the gold top one.

Re: Les Paul Tribute 50s...

I think Wattage has a Goldtop on order I'm sure he'll let us know....

I think thats the best lookin one..

Re: Les Paul Tribute 50s...

I'm liking the ebony one myself. Quality should be good, and in the hands a tweaker, I have no doubt they can be made to sound very good.

Re: Les Paul Tribute 50s...

^ tweaking is absolutely unnecessary

the two i played were perfect

good luck getting them, most places have more pre-orders than Gibson ever planned on sending.

Gibson slammed a home run way out the park on this one. THIS is what people want. OTOH, the reissue SG CLASSIC wasnt as well recieved , which is mind boggling . You can find the SG classic everywhere fopr as low as 999.00 I think, and its a monster guitar..yet I think I would trade my Classic in a New York Heratbeat for teh les paul 50's double P90!.
Now, nothing matches the unadulterated pure ( yes, thats redundant [*pure and *unadulterted] , but it has its effect) slamming gut punch of a Double P90 Les Paul.
First thing you wann do is get the BS Gibson P90's out of that thing and put in a set of Duncan Antiquity P90's. No one knows P90's like Seymour!

+1. There is a strong and growing fan base for P-90's. They're magic in LP's and SG's. And they belong in a 335 model or two. Let's hope Gibson/Epiphone gets the message...more P-90 guitars!

+2. gibson definitely got this one right! these things are insanely awesome! i bet they'll sell like crazy, then gibson will continue releasing other less exciting guitars, but i can hope they get the message.

Re: Les Paul Tribute 50s...

I had the opportunity to play one of the few samples delivered here in Italy and just after fifteen minutes I've placed an order for a Goldtop.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever get it; Gibson cancelled a lot of orders after the flood, as they have to deliver other guitars that make'em earn MORE money per instrument than these.

Anyway, already available for quite some time, another good workhorse LP not costing you an arm or a leg is the Studio Worn. No P-90s, though...

HTH,

Re: Les Paul Tribute 50s...

the white one looks cool, i love that flat white creme/nickel hardware look with no binding. it's probably look wicked as a flat top.

Sure would be hard to get one, but fortunately for me I just happen to know someone who works at a music stor. who can get me the inside track on one .. he works a Sam Ash as a matter of fact... in Atlanta...

HTH,

I haven't seen any pics, but if anybody has any of Gibson being flooded, I'd like to see them. I can't imagine anything sicker than seeing a room full of Les Pauls ready to be shipped under water.
