Les Paul wiring - 50's mod diagram with shielded wires. Is it any good ?

Hi guys !
i'm looking to get an input on a diagram a modified. Can't seem to find what i wanted. So here it is.

I'm going for a 50's mod on an LP guitar (single wire humbuckers) using shielded wires. Can someone check this diagram out and tell me if it's all good ?

Also. Will using shielded wires help noise reduction ?
i don't wanna shield cavities and i've red somewhere shield wires would help.

thanks

Didn't we just answer this? :)

Your diagram is good. Having said that, understand that the term "50's mod" refers to two different things. One, is to do what you've done. Connect the cap to the center lug of the volume pot so that as you turn down the volume you have a built-in treble-bleed. The other version is to connect the pup "hots" to the middle lug, and the output of the volume pot to feed the 3-way. That way, turning down one pup doesn't kill the other when the 3-way is in the middle position.

So, if you wanted the first one, you're there. If you wanted the other, you have work to do. ;)

I prefer to use shielded wire. The type of shielded wire depends on what the pickups are wired with. If they are single conductor pips with vintage braid wire then I'll usually wire with the same type for the rest of the connections. The downside is that shielded wire has higher capacitance. The vintage braid wire is among the highest.

Here are two more diagrams. Both for single conductor pickups ...

This one for 50's wiring with dependent volume controls.

The for 50's wiring with independent volume control.

This is 50's wiring with dependent volume controls (in the control cavity of a Les Paul). The cavity happens to be shielded but the wiring is obviously the same.

Thank you sir. Didn’t know your second option. Good to know But not really what im looking for.
You probably say this post on an other thread indeed. But i kinda high jacked it with my question and though creating a new thread would be better. Im all new here and im finding my way around. Making mistakes as i go.. well.. part of the learning. Thanks for beeing understanding.

Anyway, huge thank you. Glad to see that my very basic knowledge is ok. :)

Thanks mister. I saw these diagram (first two) on the web but was not sure why pots were not grounded together. It maybe me and my poor understanding of these diagram. Im really new at this. Also thank you fot the dependent n independent schemes. It really helps.

If you look at the last photo of the wiring in my previous post you will see a buss wire connecting all the pots.
In the diagrams, the symbol shown on the two tone pots that don't appear to be grounded is a "ground" symbol indicating that they should be grounded.

One (of many) symbols for "ground" ...

Ah. You are correct. I didn't even notice. Welcome aboard. You're doing it right. :)
