I see them all the time on Nashville CL for $1400 to $1600. To me, that's too high.
I've bought all my LP's in the last 3 years off Nashville or Atlanta CL and have yet to give more than $1300 for any of them. Of coarse, that's not the norm, but $1400 to $1600 prices are everywhere. If you're not seeing them, you're not looking hard enough.

I have no doubt that you can buy players grade or less LP Standards for $1600 and less...I mean I recently bought a 1956 LP Jr. for $50 but trust me when I tell you, it wasn't worth it!
Hell, all this said the truth is I could care less about off the shelf LP Standards...I hate the neck shapes, hardware, pickups, electronics, top carves, neck angles building construction and finishes...

Bought a 2004 for $1663 at the end of 2005 and sold it for $1500 in 2009 via Craigslist.

Hell, I got my '04 Standard brand new right out of the shipping box for $1,600. Amazes me that I can probably get more than that on E-Bay right now. The guitar really is nothing out-of-handedly special.
They sell for less locally, however.

Paid $1050 for a 93 LP Standard in 94. Sold it 3 years ago for the same price.
