Leslie West tone

Re: Leslie West tone

The most vintage spec 1 they have, back then they didn`t have any high powered offerings like today.

Re: Leslie West tone

You'll need to buy Leslie's hands as well! :D

Re: Leslie West tone

Pick close to the neck which ever pickup you select. ;)

Re: Leslie West tone

Yeah the one Ed mentioned or since it's a one pickup guitar you could always spend a bit more and get an antiquity.

+1 Best vintage P90 replica in my opinion.
And you can always tune it by swapping magnets.

Re: Leslie West tone

Don`t forget no matter what pup you go with, LOUD ! ! ! is the second key to the Mountain mans tone, next is rolling back the tone knob.

Re: Leslie West tone

Just get a Vintage. If you can't do it with that, you can't do it.

Re: Leslie West tone

Interesting that the "Mountain" pickup is black/cream. I wonder how they get around Dmz's trademark?

Re: Leslie West tone

Upgraded one of my 51's w/SH-2B & Vintage 67 Strat Neck p/u. Would like to modifiy other 51 for Leslie W's sound; Is this an exercise in futility (was looking at possible Black Back + Single Coil Combo), or better to attempt it with p/u change to my Studio Satin, or begin anew w/SG per your previous post? Any good advice is appreciated-not wanting to waste $ or mess up functioning instruments needlessly. Thanks for any time & consideration.:welcome:
