LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

LesStrat

Reining PunLowered
I finally recorded LesStrat.

The backing track is the C#m Blues Jam that Rid posted for us awhile back.

<------------------

All leads are LesStrat (the axe) being abused by yours truly.

First 30 measures are the HRb.
Next 30 measures are the CR in mid position.
Next 30 measures are the HRn.

Then several measures each with the mid positions (HRn/CR, CR/HRb).

Thanks Rid.

Ok Les....bad link I think. When I click you link...I'm directed that I need to become a soundclick member, or log in as a current member (which I am). I do that, then get directed to my own site.

Come on, Stephen, the suspense is killing us.:laugh2: :laugh2:

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

I had to go through your "Soundclips" thread to get to the goodies.

Not bad. Not bad at all. I like the tone. There were some "stray notes" in it, but overall, very nice.

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

Well, what am I doin' wrong? I think it works now.

Do you REALLY want to know?

Actually, it's pretty much a "one off."

I must have wasted a whole 15-20 minutes on this. No warmup. No practice.

Nice smooth tone, and as Arkitkt said a couple of stray notes...... recording nerves? I would have liked to hear you to get a little more aggressive and play against the rythymn a bit. Great job for your first time out and I would love to hear more. :fingersx:

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

Thanks for your kind words. I can't promise to do better, though. That takes effort.;)

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

sweet stuff stephen ... nice melodic touch and sense of space .. you get alot of nice variety in tones too .. versatile indeed
thanks for sharing it

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

Well, I'd like to take the credit, but all I did was select the pickups. I have never understood why Fender would make a guitar and sell it with 3 pickups that sound the same. Thank God for SD.

All of the amp tones are a modelled Vox AC 30 and a modelled Chandler Tube Driver.

Thanks for your kind words.

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

I dig it!! When my new roommate moves in I am gonna post some clips too!! He has a studio!!

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

I think I will attempt to record an original next; rough mix of course (since I don't know any other way).

BTW, I didn't even attempt a mixdown on this one. I need to put a little more effort into this...NAH!

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

very cool! thanks for posting - let me know how the pickup swap in your parker ends up, I'm thinking of doing the same thing with mine (I'm not a dimarzio fan) perhaps I can get some tips before I open the back up??

Re: LesStrat on tape (finally & figuratively)

First tip: Open it. Look at it. Let somebody else do it!

When other guitar builders talk about electronics, they mean WIRING. Parker means what they say.
