My idea is much better than yours...I'm thinking of getting of getting a custom shop pickup, and I'm looking for idea's. I know basically what I want, but I want to see if anyone has a better one.

You mean true, one-off type pickups or standard production custom shop stuff?
The aim of this thread escapes me...
I generally talk to MJ about my goals for something from her Custom Shop.
So tell me if I'm wrong, but I thought SD already made the frankenstein pickups that come stock in the striped series

The one in my avatar is a Custom Shop rw/rp 59/Custom Hybrid.
It could be that he wants an out of phase sound in the between positionYou appear to be holding a 2 humbucker guitar. Why is it RWRP???

Inner coils and outer coils, hum cancelling and in phase!

I don't have any because I'm broke. But if I COULD have some, they would be hot-rodded a5 single coils wound to ~9K DCR, voiced to sound punchy and Hendrixy but still great for (traditional) metal.
If you're on a budget, you should definitely check out the Duncan Designed SC-101 set found in the Squier Deluxe Strat models and a few others! It's pretty common to find a complete set out of a newer guitar in the $60 range on eBay and Reverb. The neck and middle models are more traditional in voicing and output, while the overwound bridge pretty much nails exactly what you're after. It's a good sounding and very versatile set, plus all 3 pickups use Alnico 5 magnets, just as you want!
