I nominate the second half of the Suicide and Redemption solo, from Metallica's Death Magnetic, by Kirk Hammett.
It's the pinnacle of the downfall that started from the Black Album when it comes to lead guitar work in Metallica.
Not only because it's a lesson in tasteless wah abuse, cliché blues licks and bad tone, but also because James Hetfield plays the first half of that solo and he runs circles around Hammett!
Kirk Hammett is a cool guy, I started playing guitar because of him, but come on.
