Let's play a " What If " game with Guitar Models

I think a lot of people are missing the original point. I wasn't asking for one specific configuration of a single model, but just one model in general, as if that was the only type of guitar anyone had ever thought to invent.
Meaning that if you chose a Tele, that every Tele variation that has existed would still exist, Hum-hum, Single-Single, Hum-Single, Single, etc.
My thinking was what one guitar model could I do EVERYTHING with in one configuration or another.

The thing is . . . with different pickups and bridge configurations I could get close enough in sound to do just about anything with most model guitars. Strat? Yep. Jazzmaster? Yep. Les Paul? Yep. RG? Yep. Firebird? Yep. V? Yep. SG? Yep. The one important consideration that could limit things would be upper fret access.

My Jackson DXMG. If I expanded the wiring options, I could play any genre with that guitar. With just the Jazz/JB combo and standard wiring (1V1T and three way), I can play almost any genre.

The tiebreaker for me is the tremolo options on the Stratocaster. I think there are more, even when considering the Bigsby option, than on G-type guitars.

I dunno man. Any bridge you can put on a strat you can put on any other guitar. Floyd, strat regular, bigsby, kahler, stetsbar . . .

Where there's a will (and a router, and a lack of care about resale value) there's a way!

Any wiring setup that you can do on an LP, you can come close to with a 1V1T superstrat with four wire pickups and either Triple Shot rings or a Freeway switch.
And the Floyd is already there.

Oh I agree. I just view them as already there on my Strats, and I could not carve up my LPs. I have a Bigsby on my Wildkat, but that is it. I am a child of the 80's, so probably also biased.

A terrible thing, making us pick like this.
Having said that, probably strats. In all wood/hardware/pickup combos available.
If I can't have 15 different guitars, I sure as hell can have 15 different strats!

Mustang. You can throw any bridge and any pickup in it without looking weird (well maybe FR bridge).

I've never had a Floyd Rose guitar, but I've thought about buying an FRX for one of my TOM / stop tailpiece semi-hollows. That may be a hoot.
