... if you can help me on this one:

I bought this SD Distortion on Ebay a while ago. The guy told me that it was a vintage one so there was no logo on the back, only a DD adesive indicating Duncan Distortion. Is this thing for real or did I get ripped off? Here are the pictures...

Hard to tell. I remember having Distortions in the early 80s that had decals like those, but there was usually a third letter which indicated the builder or inspector or something. For example, I remember distinctly having a Custom that read "DC J" (spaced just like I typed) on the decal.

My DD also had a letter after the "DD". And don't all Duncans have the Seymour Duncan logo engraved on the bottom?

I'd be suspicious that its not real. But I'm not sure about old ones.

Davey, I don't have the proper tools at home to measure the pu for instance... I was hoping that we could answer my doubt just by checking the pics! I can check on the mags later though...

Oh, the wire color is classic Duncan I belive... I'll confirm it later too.

yeah man it is the real deal it is just a very old one thats all
most are so used to seeing the engraved baseplate they forget the at one time seymour was a very small lost cost company
now having told you all this sell it to me for $30 shipped!!!!! :laugh2: :laugh2: :beerchug:
