Re: lets see some bad ass guitar straps.
I must be the strap king....50 guitars...50 leather straps. I have them from:
Franklin Straps
Levy's
Martin
Taylor
Fort Bryan
Italia
Double Treble
Moody's
Washburn
Music Man
Atlas
Eyeland
Calabreze
I would say for aesthetics, Eyeland Straps are about the most "bad-ass" on the market. Truly some weird, eye-catching designs.
I think the best value strap is the Franklin Leather straps. I got mine from Guitar Center, and I have a BUNCH of them. Beautiful, simple soft leather in 2.5" and 3" widths, I have them in black, caramel, and chocolate brown.
My next favorites are the Levy's carving leather straps--I probably have 9-10 of them. Oak leaves, Kokopelli, Paisley, checkerboards in black and walnut, geometric lines, etc. My newest strap is for my Martin HD-28V--from Levy's Acoustic Series, in Dark Brown leather. Simple and luxurious, these are fairly long and taper down to 1" where the strap would attach to an acoustic's neck strap button, for minimal interference. The Taylor strap is made on the same pattern, with "Taylor Guitars' in gold-leaf.
I only have one, but the Italia Straps are also great values. I may have to have them do me a custom length strap for my next guitar.
Moody's are beautifully made, but REALLY expensive. I found a used strap on E-bay and it still cost me $85.00. They tend to be short, and custom long lengths are BIG $$$$$.
I love a good leather strap that compliments the look of the guitar.
