Here are my two telecasters . What do you like better? The ash custom or Walnut thinline

I like both of yours, but I gotta admit that I’ve always had a soft spot for walnut [emoji1303][emoji41]

I only have one to show... her name is Ginger:

That walnut Thinline is drop-dead gorgeous! You gotta bless us with some more pics of that one

There is a build thread on here somewhere . It’s either 69 walnut thinline or operation underdog. One of the other

Yeah, she’s a GuitarFetish build. I was very pleasantly surprised by the neck and she plays very well, although she’s kinda heavy (9 lbs). The trem works fine, but I wouldn’t do it again just because I’m not much of a trem guy. At best I never use it and at worst it gets in the way of me adjusting the controls.

Looks cool though!

I used the GFS Lil Punchers and really dig the sound. Nothing fancy about the wiring except for having a push/pull on the tone control for OOP and a mini switch for splitting the coils. I also used an LP style pickup selector instead of a blade switch.

All in all a fun guitar to play and it was fun to build as well.

Re: Let's see some telecasters( telecasters only)

Teles were never my thing, but I do appreciate what others do with them. Lots of great ones here!

Re: Let's see some telecasters( telecasters only)

Mine's of no true interest. 1994 Mexican Fender "Squier Series." No mods.

Pros:
-No ceramic pickups; brass plate, actually good
-Good one piece neck (small radius/frets, matte fretboard, gloss back)

Cons:
-A bit dead unplugged
-Possibly due to cheap-ish top-loader bridge
-Terrible tuners

Can I play even with Esquires?

The closest thing I have to a "Number One" (though I don't really rank my guitars) is this guy:

Here are some build pix of one I did back around 2011 or 2012. It's a nice axe, but it is O.O.C. at the moment, as I decided to sell the neck off of it. It's ash (obviously), but without the grain filler, and a polished finish (as opposed to the typical non-filled with a matte finish).

I have another Esquire I built too, but no good pix.

I have two Teles as well. The pic of the American Vintage '58 reissue is just a camera phone shot, so it isn't great. I can't access my Aerodyne pix at the moment.

Re: Let's see some telecasters( telecasters only)

The Tele I had...sold that one as well, Customshop California Beach....tried to love it since 2011....but in the end my hands said no thanks....it sounded glorious but it just did not fit me very well...
Was kinda bittersweet letting it go!

Try building you your own . A lot of companies now will build you a neck to your specks .

Well...not gonna go that route...too many variables to consider...plus it rarely ends up sounding all that good...
Gonna scoop up some Japanese Fernandes or Tokai and call it a day, maybe a G&L Tribute? Maybe a Thinline style of some sort?...no need for expensive sh1t anymore....not gonna make me any happier as it is...

Re: Let's see some telecasters( telecasters only)

Here are a few of the Teles I've built:
This is one of the first ones I built. Just your basic Tele in fluorescent orange.
P1000791[1].jpg

This IS a Tele, but I cut out the upper bout, left off the pickguard, chambered the body (swamp ash), added belly cut and forearm relief.
P1000792[1].jpg

This one is one of my favorite guitars. My wife calls it "The Denim". Chambered with belly cut, mahogany body with maple cap, Tele/Stratocaster blended pickguard. Only weighs 6.0 pounds.
P1000793[2].jpg

Next I decided to laminate maple, wenge, padauk, and purpleheart into this chambered Tele again with belly cut. I even created a multi-laminated headstock veneer,
P1000794[1].jpgP1000795[1].jpg

This one is my wife's favorite so far. Mahogany chambered body with belly cut, ash with padauk and wenge cap. I decided to do something a little different with the edges...in addition to binding, I also routed the edges.
P1000806[1].jpg

One that I'm currently working on. Mahogany chambered body, maple and purpleheart cap (with accents of wenge), belly relief, Fretboard is maple and purpleheart laminated with binding, abalone dot fret markers. The back has a maple/purpleheart/maple stripe down the center (it can be seen in the pickup routs). When it's finished it will have a light burst of purple around the edge to approximately match the color of the purpleheart.
P1000801[1].jpgP1000803[1].jpgP1000805[2].jpg

So, some of these don't look like your typical Tele, but the design actually is based upon the Tele shape with some minor (and some major) modifications. Notice how I chopped down the lower horn...I figured that it was just useless weight.

^^ Awesome stuff, Doc! I’m really digging the one you’re working on now, especially that neck!

That'd be mine. MIM Standard with a Hot for Tele set, Joe Barden bridge piece and locking tuners.

Not really digging the pickup set. It sounds killer but it's too Un-Tele for what I want. And since I don't like the middle position in Teles, I'm thinking of Esquiring it up with a snappier bridge pickup, a new pickguard and just make a mean RNR machine out of it.
