Lets see those Wine Red Fenders

No Dakota, Fiesta, Brick, Candy Apple, Chrome or Bright Reds... Looking for the darker burgundy, maroon and wine reds...

I've got a late 90's Fender Jazz in Wine Red and I'm looking for ideas to dress it up as I replace the pickups. I'd love to see what others have done with guitars like these. Pickguards, knobs, covers, etc.

If you've got a darker Red Fender or Fender style, show it off!

Darker red body (when not in such bright light), mirror red pickguard with parchment plastic pieces. It reminds me of a can of Coke.

So here's an example of the same bass as mine, the red guard and chrome knobs are kind of cool.

I'm not a fan of blue or red pearloid, it seems too busy to have both the texture and a loud color at once, but brown pearl seems to go with OK because it's a bit more understated. I put a mirror pick guard on a friends bass http://www.amazon.com/MIJ-MIRROR-Pi...41&sr=8-8&keywords=mirror+pickguard+jazz+bass it goes well with the metal control plate, or they make red ones also http://www.amazon.com/MIJ-REAL-MIRR...41&sr=8-7&keywords=mirror+pickguard+jazz+bass . The only drawback is they show fingerprints and scratches more readily, which isn't a big problem IMO.

This color is actually called Midnight Wine. I've always liked it.

Yes, Midnight Wine is the correct name!

So on these, I'm really having a tough decision as far as pickguards go. I'm over the plain white, so... Black? Brown Tort? Red Tort? (Pearl?)

Maybe I can to a mockup and a poll...
