I neevr seen no amp thread about the Dumbles. Only the very wealthy , like, very very wealtyh can afford em. Simon and Simon Theme featuring a real good version of the genuine Dumble amp.;

You're on the wrong forum for that... Here you will find the Brose Cuervo, IPA sniffing, garage tweaker metalheads.

You can't force high culture down their throats, but be my guest. Maybe someone will post a Beethoven's 9th played on a Ceriatone Dumble ODS clone in the tips & clips section someday....

Of course, for every example like that, you also have examples like this:

Re: Lets Talk Dumble!

Kaiser always makes me laugh... It's what most gearpage people sound like I imagine.

Re: Lets Talk Dumble!

Kaiser is a nut. That guitar stuff was as all over the place as the pattern on that shirt.

God the Kaiser.... ;)

I toughs that not only did you have to pay big bucks for a Dumble, he had to like your playing itself to even be considered. (I.e. people like me couldn't get one no matter what)

Re: Lets Talk Dumble!

I've had the privileged of playing both a Dumble Overdrive & a trainwrek. The TW iIMHO was a far superior amp in all the harmonics that it had clean as well as dirty. I played the dumble for about an hour & the TW for maybe 20 to 30 minutes but really in just a few minutes I felt the trainwreck in my bones. It was everything a guitar player would want from an amp. Based on that (needless to say I don't have 25+K to drop on any amp or gear) I bought a Komet. A few years ago I was looking into amps to buy & I believe I was heavily considering the Marshall Vintage Modern, but after playing it I thought it was uninspiring so I continued to search. I would up buying a Komet 60 that I found used and I got a very good deal on it. I paid more for the Komet then I did for any other amp but it is such a beautiful sounding amp. But using one amp is very hard for me. Based on the size of the rooms I typically play I usually gig with a Deluxe Reverb. Its small and not tremendously loud but it works for what I do. Sometimes I would like to get a bit more drive out of it but not often. The challenge with a small wattage amp is headroom. The Komet is the most harmonically alive amp I think I have ever played through consistently. I don't play it exceptionally loud but its still pretty loud. I A/B this with my Bogner Shiva and the two amps give me everything I would need. I use the Komet for a majority of my cleans and the Bogner for my drive. Works well for me....

Re: Lets Talk Dumble!

I just dropped in for the awesome 80's theme music & Kelly LeBrock. Educational though. Always wondered what was being used to get that cool 80's theme music lead sound.
