LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

Re: LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

So you modify Chinese cocks and fall in love with wood.

Just clarifying.

Re: LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

Yeah sounds right to me.

I am just warming up for my shift at the guitar shop. If someone mentions a loose input jack, i gota screamer.

Re: LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

LA BUMPA.

Right I forgot about this thread:

here's where I stand.

- The Piezo Idea is not going ahead
- I still need brass saddles and I am struggling to get wilkinson compensated ones in this country (for some weird reason)
- I have all the electrical components and pickups ready (MANY UBER THANKS to Dominus who has been a fantastic bro to me throughout!)
- I require wiring help
- I am debating whether to get locking tuners.

I query locking tuners because they are not totally essential but it would save me tuning cause I'm a lazy mudda****er.

The wiring scheme I have in mind is as follows:

Bridge rails HB has a push pull for Splitting.

The four way switch would have:

1) Bridge
2) Both in Series
3) Both in parallel
4) Neck.

Funk has spoken to me and says that Series may sound muddy (apologies if I got it wrong way round), He is bang on the money normally, has anyone tried it to verify this?

Alternative the switch could work like this:

1) Bridge
2) Both with neck split
3)Both with Neck whole
4) Unsplit neck.

Cheers and sorry about the lack of updates, my life is severely screwed right now.

Re: LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

The ten-contact, four-way selector switch does not have enough poles to also govern automated coil splits.

Re: LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

I might have a spare set of Wilkinson saddles that I'd sell you. I'll take a look later, if you still need them.

Or you could just buy the whole bridge here.

you might know this,

You know on the L/H complete bridge on that link, it says it does top loading AND string Thru, so that should mean two sets of holes.... i'm a dumb f*** sometimes :smack:

I might as well buy the whole bridge

Re: LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

also now thinking of getting another push pull pot and a three way switch might make things easier for wiring sake.

Yup, two sets of holes. Six on the bottom, six on the back. You can mix and match which ones you like to use, too.

It's a good bridge. Check the dimensions carefully, though. You might end up needing to drill new mounting holes.

Re: LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

Yeah but both my pickups are rails and I don't want to start hacking wires about cause I have enough wires now, lol.

I want to try and keep spending down so I may stick with the four way... wish i could make my mind up.

Re: LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

String trees can most assuredly mess with the action. If they are too high, and not providing anough break angle, it can be hard to play lead riffs on the first several frets ( can also downtune/ use lighter strings to make easier). It can also screw with tuning..if they are loose and go at an angle or something youR string tuning can go flat.
Hugely underrated littel thing that can mess you up bigtime.

That, along with the non-existent sustain and dead tone. String trees are important. But the Op could look into these (but in color of choice of course):

http://www.guitarfetish.com/Wilkins...ck-6-inline-for-Fender-Headstocks_p_883.html#

But use the lower hole for the higher strings that require a bigger break angle. Also, he could try using all of the string when restringing the unwound strings, so the angle is correct and steep enough.

Re: LHS's Chinese c*** transformation thread

....right.

anyways, Been thinking about wiring again, might opt for a three way switch and one push pull, I should be able to get both Pickups split with one Push Pull, Schecter manage it on their guitars, so I will look up some diagrams, what do you think? definitely would keep wiring easier?

Simply connect the red and white wires from both pickups to the push/pull switch.
