Light strings on an acoustic?

Re: Light strings on an acoustic?

Again...

Ovation Celebrity + Monte Allums Modded CS3 + Zoom A2 (Martin D-28 model) + Tasteful dash of Boss DD-3 and Digitech Chorus (TC Model), into an Aphex Acoustic Exciter set just so =

AMAZING sound and comfortable playing all evening.

That's why Christian. And I think I actually have 11's on there right now...just for the record.

And on electric, the Rev Billy G. And YJM both use like 8's...

Tell us Christian, what sucks about their tone?

Are you trolling or is it just a bad day for you?

Acoustic =/= electric.

If you used 8's on any acoustic, it would be dildos.

Re: Light strings on an acoustic?

Well...I see Aceman has his Ace up about things...

IMNSHO if you run that much processing with an acoustic you might as well be playing an electric anyway so most of this is for not.

In addition to that and I mean nothing personal by what I'm about to say but Ovations don't count...you need to use heavy strings to drive an acoustic guitar to vibrate and sound like they should but plastic guitars don't really care what kind of strings you use on them, they are plastic. And just for the record...I own an Ovation so I speak from experience.

As for the BFG/YJM snap let me just first say I made it VERY clear I was talking about ACOUSTIC instruments not to mention you shouldn't mention YJM is a tone hound, his tone is pretty terrible more often than not IMHO so what of it...
