Re: (likely unlikely) New Forum Pup specs!!! HB/SC?

Please speak for yourself. I have much more use for a "80s" bucker than I do a single coil (which in fact I have NO use whatsoever for).:18:

Devils Advocate: if everyone could find their "80s" tone with seymours current offerings, there would be no such thing as the custom shop..or any other pup manufacturer for that matter.

AAMOF I see an awful lot of single coils in the Duncan lineup, especially when one includes tele and P90s..I'm sure all of you single coil folks could find YOUR tone within those standard offerings, no?

...but 80s artists actually USED production duncan pickups :laugh2: and as has been pointed out, there are more holes in the single coil lineup.

I think whatever we make, it SHOULD be something unique and unlike anything duncan offers currently.

Of course many of you know that my perceptions of duncans as an "upgrade" to anything whether bucker or SC is controversial at best so...

Oh quit being all rational...thats no fun.

What? Single coil is winning this? What is happening to the world. We don't need more single coils, we need the ultimate 80sbucker! :D

What is wrong with Single coils? They are great. I serously would like to see a nice forum single coil. I serously think we have a nice choice of 80s bukers to choose from

What? No way we have enough 80's buckers:
JB, Distortion, Invader (sorta 80's), Full Shred, Screamin' Demon, and if the more heavy pups count as 80's, El Diablo, Dimebucker.
And DiMarzio has SuperD and ToneZone (and X2N and PAF Pro).

But, a HOT tappable, possibly 5/2 set of Strat pups would be great offering in the Duncan line; the ultimate pup set for anything from country to blues to hard and heavy, from Knopfler to Hendrix to Clapton to Blackmore or Yngwie.

Re: (likely unlikely) New Forum Pup specs!!! HB/SC?

like dangles said. the 80s guys used SD production pickups. buy one that is there, don't exclude other people from the deal because you need something made that you can get a lot easier by just buying it. there is a huge hole in the SC line...

Re: (likely unlikely) New Forum Pup specs!!! HB/SC?

Frankly I have not much need for any of Duncans 80s buckers either, just that I have far MORE use for one than a SC. There are a few gaps in the bucker line too.

No worries though I'm just playing Devil's Advocate. I won't be in on this one, so I have no stake in it.:knockedou

I vote for a Custom/Brobucker Hybrid...

5.00K - 42 Gauge Screw Coil
7.25K - 43 Gauge Stud Coil

A2 or Aged A5 magnet

That's 12.25k of pure rockin tone!
