i'm thinking of getting a lil 59 bridge in the NECK position on my strat with a jbjr bridge. would this work?

Re: lil 59 bridge in the NECK position?

I just had this talk w/ Lew! Bottom Line: Once upon a time the bridge and neck winds were all the same (as much as tech would allow). So basically it's just a little hotter than the typical modern neck. No big deal in my opinion.

Then it just comes down to is a 59/JB a good match. ESP does ity in an EC-1000. It should be as versatile as any classic neck / hot bridge combo.

Aceman is right about the full sized hummies, but in the strat sized world, the bridge unit is a lot hotter (8k for the neck vs 11.5k for the bridge on mine). if you need a hot, dark, compressed set up, then the Lil 59 bridge might work for you in the neck. I would not pair it with a JB Jr though, as the JB Jr isn't exactly the beefiest pickup in the world. If you're planning on going with the JB J, stick with the neck Lil 59.

i don't mind hot, but dark and compressed? nah...

i was worried about the output difference looking at the tone chart... i might have problems with balancing and stuff...

thanks!

What you may have a problem with is losing all your quack in positions 2 and 4.

I think Duncan offers the Lil '59 as a neck pickup in their "Do-All" Strat set, along with a Duckbucker for the middle and a JB, Jr. in the bridge.

It might work, but I love the quack of vintage single coils too much to give it up.

but that's if you have the lil 59 neck - not the bridge version - in the neck position?
