Well,as you can see i don`t have a lot of duncans. The reason why i`m in this forum is to get to know duncans a little better.I`ve allways played with stock pu`s.
I`m working on 3 guitars right now and concider putting new pu`s in them all.
Fender tele deluxe `72 reissue (neck HB sucks, bridge a little better) maple fb
Fender american strat (50`th anniv.) need a HB in the bridge position maple fb
Fender jaguar `62 reissue(would like this to be HH) rosewood fb
Well here is my question, would the lil`59 sound as great as the regular sized ones?
if not i think i will cut larger holes in the jaguar to fit the regular sized HB`s.
I`m a rocker i`m a roller i`m a right out of controler..........hehe

I think the Lil 59's sound just as good as the regular 59's. Are they exactly the same? Not really. You'll probably find the Lil 59 brighter and with less low end than the normal 59. This is not a bad thing, IMHO.

Re: lil 59 comared to a regular sized 59 HB

i didn't try a big 59 so far. the lil'59 in neck pos did bring me the sound
i excpected. for me it's bassy enough, but i estimate it's because of my
thick gauge

Of the 3 production floor "Little bucker" models (Little 59, JB Jr. and Little Screamin Demon), I think the Little 59 is the closest to sounding like it's big brother out of them all. It matches up really well with stock Strat pickups well too. Can't go wrong with it.

Glad you like it. The Lil '59b rocks too!

If high prices are a problem for you, look into ordering from Black Rose in the US. It'll probably work out cheaper, even with the shipping - especially if you order more than one pickup at a time. Great customer service too.

Re: lil 59 comared to a regular sized 59 HB

would the lil 59 match a full sized JB? well if not which, single coiled sized humbuker will?

Re: lil 59 comared to a regular sized 59 HB

The LIL 59 is GREAT, but in NO WAY is identical to the real 59
The physics of the size shape, etc are different, let alone the magnets, etc.

The little 59 is a bit brighter and crunchier. It has a similar vibe, but I prefer the real 59.

I will say this - the little 59 allowed my strat to still be twangy and have a strat vibe.

The JB Jr is a little warmer and crunchier without the harshness compared to the real JB IMHO - BUT I WILL ADD I am not sure if my V has 250s or not. Both pups are a tad focused.

The HOT RAILS is too much mid and not enough twang and sweetness for my tastes. Worls well for rock. I have a friend who lives off that pup. It was always too stiff for me.

MY REPLY is spplit the hot rails and coil tap it or wire it in parralel and that will break ups its midds if you wire it parrallel with itself it will get twangy fast but you might rue the day you did it

I like the Cool Rails for that. The OD is always thick and the cleans have great snap and sparkle.
