this has been boggling on my mind for quite a while now... i keep reading a lot about the JB being having great high ends, mids but flabby bottom.
I have a friend having a JB on the bridge of an Ibanez RG450MMH... mahogany body, maple neck... and the sound he gets is... kinda muddy. ?
as for me, I'm using a mex strat maple neck, alder body, with 2 classic stacks on the neck and mid, and jb-jr on the bridge. The JB Jr sounds like it has great crunch on the bass, good mids but way too ice-picky treble. (that's even after I wired it to a 250k tonepot.)
I'm kinda puzzled why there seems to be such a big difference in terms of sound... yeah the woods are different but the sound is so contrasting.
Wondering how the lil 59 vs 59 would fare too... i'll be trading my jb-jr with a lil59.
