okay, I have a 2 Channel Crate BV-120HR...and I was wondering if there's any pedals.or something I can use to get a "3rd Channel" Type of sound...someting I Can have operating while the Disto channel of my amp is running..but not sound super artifical..and like poo. I run a Blues/Rock, Classic Rock sound. with low output hums/singlee coils

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Re: lil, more saturated lead tones??

Arion Tubulator or a TS would work.

Re: lil, more saturated lead tones??

I use a Boss Super OD. Along with the tubescreamer it is widley used. Many "modded" type sounds came from those. I set the Volume full on with the gain about off. Add a little more grit

Re: lil, more saturated lead tones??

hmm..I got a boss DF-2..and when i crank the vol..but have a slight bit od gain on...it's actually quieter then when the pedals off.....:S thx 4 the help i'll try to look into those

Re: lil, more saturated lead tones??

John Spina moded TS9 reissue with Drive on 2 and Level on 8, and Ibanez CS-9 chorus after and you will be in tonal heaven, I know I am.

Re: lil, more saturated lead tones??

Boss DS-1...my standard recomendation. Great tone...And cheap!

Lets me do it all with my guitar's volume control: clean on 5...overdriven and sustainful on 10.

The Tube Screamer won't do that...the DS-1 will.

I think from the initial post it is obvious its not about cleaning up he wants to color already distorted amp, and tube screamers do it much more elegant than distortions.

Hi Mitch
try a boss BD2 Blues driver or a boss GE7 graphic eq boost the schitt oudda a certain freq or just up the db +12 maxx on the pedal

Re: lil, more saturated lead tones??

thats originally what I was doing...using my Boss GE-7.....but I think I know what I'm gonna do now:P.....

I played one at my local Guitar shop and was like WOW..total Blues..and it can get gritty....3 12ax7's...4 EL34's...mmmm...single channel...but I'll be A/Bing it with my Crate BV120-HR(Sammy Hagar Limited Edish) through my Crate 4x12" Celestion Vintage 30's :)

heres the kicker....It's a valveking..exept 1 channel(w/ Bright Switch)..and using EL34's instead of 6L6's...still got the "texture" control...I like that...and?!?!

ONLY $560 CANADIAN!!(@ my guitar store:P)....so..for a CHEAP good sounding all TUBE head...I'll take it:P

Re: lil, more saturated lead tones??

When I was going for a more saturated lead tone I didn't get a boost I got a delay.
