Lil Screaming Demon... wacha think?

Re: Lil Screaming Demon... wacha think?

I've been told that the lil' Demon sounds a lot like it's full sized brother, which to me is a very good thing. I have a SD in the bridge of my Warmoth 72 Thinline, and I love it. But it has a very distinctive sound, so I think it would be advisable to try to find one to play before you purchase. Mine has a pronounced upper mid bump, and harmonics seem to jump out of it, and it loves Dist/OD. Of course a lot depends on the guitar it goes in.

Hmm...Pegasus Actual has been listening to a lot of Pearl Jam's Evenflo. I've got a Lil Demon bridge model. It can pull off fairly heavy stuff pretty well, but still doesn't sound like a full-size 'bucker. I think it sits in a good spot between the Lil '59 and Jbjr...keeps the nice edge of the '59 w/good harmonics & has a bit more output, but doesn't get so middy like the Jbjr. I still prefer the Hot Rails for 'heavy', but the Lil Demon wins out for versatility--having better cleans and mild distortion IMO.

Hmm.. sounds kinda interesting, and like mrprinter said it would be best to play one first. I doubt if I know anyone who has one, though. Does SD still have the 30 day guarantee? FWIW, "Reverend Sunburst" was written as a tribute to Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top, so "Just Got Paid" was kinda on my mind, but it IS interesting that you hear the "Evenflo" theme there.

Seymour Duncan's guarantee is 21 days, same as ever.

Interesting. I listened again after reading the back-story you provided and I can hear those elements too. The dirty staccato chords & double stops definitely have some Gibbons flavor. I had never even heard of the band until your post.

I've been working on getting this band up & going for a while. We played the Cooper Young Festival here in Memphis on Sept. 17th. 120,000+ people. Quite a trip! Working on getting over to the UK and Europe for early festival season over there.

Having tried all of the mentioned pickups I agree with this completely. I ended up keeping the demon due to the versatility. I play 80's classic metal.
