So we know the story about 10k paf witch led to the Brobucker , and Lindy Fralin is doing paf wind from 7 to 10 k , 42 wire gauge , plain enamel etc ...

Who had experience with them ?
As intrigued by the 9 , 9.5 and 10 k paf .

Lindy Fralin Humbuckers
Gibson’s classic double coil pickup. The coils are in phase to a guitar amp, but out of phase to the "hum" in the air. We offer this pickup in Zebra (one black coil and one cream coil) or Double Black. Other options include coil tap or Gibson style braided shield wire and outputs from 7.5 K to 10.0 K. All of our humbuckers are wound with 42 Plain Enamel like the old P.A.F.’s.
PAF style humbuckers are available in outputs of: 7.5K, 8K, 8.5K, 9K, 9.5K & 10K .

I have one of the 7.5k neck humbuckers. Great stuff! Bright and articulate without the boomy bass of a5. The Fralins really don't sound like a vintage humbucker. They sound like a humbucker with some of the character of a single coil. I love single coils and bright neck humbuckers, so it works for me. If you're expecting a PAF, you'll probably be disappointed. If you want something articulate and bright, with some single coil vibe, you'll love them.

I've not tried any bridge Fralins yet. Not enough guitars yet ;). Lew is the resident Fralin expert here, maybe he'll chime in.

My Les Paul Classic came with a Fralin set, installed by the previous owner. It's an 8k neck, 9k bridge set. In this guitar, these pickups are just right. Perfect singing sustain, crunch on full settings, and they ring like bells when played clean.

On a whim, I ordered a Fralin set for my SG too. This time, I found an 8.5k neck, 9.5k bridge set. I thought I would get a little hotter set for the SG, since I wanted to use it for heavier songs. Man oh man, do I love this pickup set! Sustain is great, and my solos just leap from the guitar like lasers.

I've always been a Duncan man, but these Fralins are freakin' great!
