Line 6 pedals?

Can anyone offer me some insight on the Line 6 pedals? I'm considering driving out to GC today and give the Tap Tremolo a whirl. Just wondering how they are in terms of durability and construction.

Re: Line 6 pedals?

I heard the tonal quality was good, but if you use anything other than a Line6 certified power supply they have a horrible hissing sound.

Re: Line 6 pedals?

ive never heard about that problem with the power supply, but line6 makes good stuff. im sure that those tap tremelo pedals are good sh*t. the delays and tremelos and modulations on the PODs are very nice, and i would expect nothing less from the new line of pedals they put out.

Re: Line 6 pedals?

Hissing sound - I have a POD 2.0 and one of my pet peeves about the thing is that it hisses like crazy on clean settings. Of course the noise gate eliminates this when I am not playing, but the second I hit a string, hisssssssssssss. I might as well be recording to a cheap, low grade tape cassette and playing it back.

Re: Line 6 pedals?

Thanks guys. Buying a new power supply isn’t a big deal. I know *most* pedals use a 250ma power supply, but my Morley wah needed a 300ma to keep from hissing when using the wah. I was more concerned with the actual construction of the Line 6 products (pedals aren’t also known as stomp boxes for nothing). Tone wise I think it ought to be pretty good considering what Line 6 has accomplished in terms of digital effects and modeling.

Coolest thing about the Tap Tremolo is its ability to pan the tremolo. Stereo tremolo sounds like a lot of fun to record with.

I’ll be heading up there after work, let’s see if there are anymore comments before I leave for the day.
