I just picked up the DL4 from GC b/c they were having a 10% off sale. I was looking on the net for settings and so on and saw the HC reviews...apparently these pedals don't last. Thing is, I don't really trust much in the HC reviews usually; has anyone had problems with theirs? I don't want to hold on to this thing if they're that unreliable...I'll take it back before the 2 week trial period is up and get something else if they're that bad.

Works completely fine for me. I've had it for a couple months and it's done nothing but create awesome delay tones....and make my looping skills better.

Glad it's workin' for ya bro. Most of the reviewers say they crap out at about the 1 year mark; I didn't know these things came out in 99. Thing is, $250 is a good down payment on a decent amp head or something if this baby is super fragile, if you know what I mean.

My friend has had his for a few years, and from what I see..it's still working well.
In all honesty, if I could I probably would've bought a better amp than buy the pedal. But if I could have both...i'd humbly accept it. The pedal is great, but I'd rather have, like you said, a decent amp head and then buy it later.

They were made in the USA then, and there seems to be a consensus that QC went poo poo when the move to China (or wherever) occured.
Yeah, but the sound isn't really in question, it does sound great. I'm glad yours hasn't had any issues. I wonder if some of those folks used improper power supplies for their units?

I haven't had one issue with mine, even though i got it second-hand (studio use only).

I got a used one in 2002 and still use it. I've had a few probs with it turning off in a bad AC power situation(I use the line6 power adaptor). The effect will just stop and reset to bypass state. It's annoying but has only happened 2 or 3 times in 5 years.

I bought a s/h one and then was horrified when I read the HC reviews but its been fine for the last six months. I too had the turning off problem with but was using a boss power supply with an adapter. But since I got a Line 6 power supply I've had no problems.

The issues seem to occur to people that treat it pretty roughly. Home use and gentle live stuff seems to be ok, the guys that really stomp it break the stomp contacts I think.
