anyone know if modern danelectro pickups sound any good. anything like the ye olde ones that we all know and love? thinking about getting a dano pro but wondering if the pickups should stay or go...

The new Dano's really haven't changed aside from the build quality. The ones that I have played sounded fine to me but I have never played one with the old pickups in it so I can't tell you if there is a difference.

I'd say give it a shot. It'll probably be a cool addition to the arsenal, sort of like buying a Derringer pistol to display along side the hunting rifles and sub-machine guns.
