Edit: I stand corrected... Cool... :) I've also changed the surfers... They were sorta too thick for the "56" sound that I was after.

Re: List your Guitars and pickups in them

Jackson USA KV2 King V - Had EMGs in it when I bought it, but recently traded them to a friend for a pair of Gibson Burstbuckers, but they're not going in this guitar. It's patiently waiting for me to make up my mind about which Duncan's I want in it.

Jackson USA SL1 Soloist - Im guessing it has the stock JB in it, but a previous owner swapped out the single coils for a couple Duncan single coil sized 'buckers. I haven't gotten around to identifying them yet, though.

MIJ Jackson DK2 Eerie Dess Swirl - Duncan JB, Duncan designed single coil in the middle and a Duncan Hot Rails in the neck

MIJ Jackson DK2S Dinky Sustainiac - this one is bone stock, JB, STK1, and a Sustainiac

Jackson JS Series King V - Black Winter set

Jackson Dinky Performer - currently torn apart with no pickups. It needs a new neck.

Gibson Explorer - Duncan Screamin' Demon in the bridge & a Pearly Gates in the neck

Epiphone Les Paul Custom (made in Korea) - Gibson 500T/496R set

Ibanez RG-320 - stock Ibanez pickups

Ibanez VBT-700 - stock DiMarzio D Activator set

MIM Fender Telecaster - stock Fender pickups

Samick Showmaster Strat style electric - stock pickups

Samick 12 sting acoustic - no pickups

Samick 6 string acoustic/electric - stock Piezo setup

Peavey Milestone V 5 string bass - stock pickups

Re: List your Guitars and pickups in them

1) Homemade "Amira" guitar. Oak body with Schaller Floyd Rose and a Custom Custom. Thinking of making it a JB/Custom Custom hybrid.

2) Fender MIM Clear Ash Telecaster. Currently putting in a 3rd neck pickup and not entirely sure on pickup choices. Will have true single coils and series/parallel/phase/on/off switching.

3) LTD M-100FM with Alnico II Pro neck and JB bridge (could be the other half to the Custom/JB hybrid). Removed tone control and put in a master series/parallel switch, phase switch, and switch to act like a tone control on "0".

4) Epiphone 'burnt' Les Paul with a Custom/large ceramic and GFS Fat PAT neck with an Alnico IV.

Re: List your Guitars and pickups in them

I have about 20 electrics. Of those, only four have non-stock pickups. They are all Strats. All four of my Strats have aftermarket or non-stock pickups. No Duncans, though. One has Fender CS '54's. Another has Di'Marzio and Suhr pickups. One has EMG SAs. The last one has '65 Duo-Sonic pickups in the bridge and middle, and some unknown vintage-style pickup in the neck.

The first Esquire that I built has a Duncan Broadcaster pickup. The second Esquire I built has a Reilander P-90-esque pickup in it.

My Dean Z came stock with Duncans (JB and '59). My ML came stock with Di'Marzio Super Distortions. They both still have the stock pickups in them.

Re: List your Guitars and pickups in them

I have an early SRV Strat with the stock Texas Specials. An early custom shop Cray Strat with the stock CS pickups that sound awesome. A partscaster with D. Allen Tru-62 pickups, PIO caps and the Eric Johnson/Jimmie Vaughan wiring mod; which sounds amazing. I also have a 2010 Gibson LP Studio with SD Pearly Gates, and a Tundratone vintage wiring harness with PIO caps and upgraded pots. I'm very pleased with the way it came out. I think the Texas a Specials are my least favorite pickups of the ones I own.

Re: List your Guitars and pickups in them

Ok here goes: =)

#1: Carvin ST300C: CURRENTLY with DiMarzio Evolution (br) and PAFPro (neck) BUT SOON to be changed to
Seymour Duncan Custom Shop "Wrath of the Lamb" (br) and "Viking" (neck)

#2: Carvin V220C: Seymour Duncan Invader (br) and Duncan Screamin Demon (neck)

#3 BC Rich ST3 (1986): H-S-S setup.. Bridge: none need to find one.. DEBATING putting in the "incorrectly" spaced "Viking" pickup that the CS sent me for the bridge. Middle SC: stock. Neck SC: DiMarzio HS3 (1987 vintage)

#4: Jackson Dinky Dk2: H-S-S. Bridge: nothing right now. Maybe a JB? Neck and middle SC's: stock "Duncan designed"

Re: List your Guitars and pickups in them

Thanks... I haven't installed them yet.. but from the descriptions I gave MJ.. the Wrath of the Lamb should be similar to a Distortion but with less highs and MORE mids and lows. Lots of clarity and harmonics.. I heard a demo the other day of the Bare Knuckles Warpig.. and the specs match very closely to what I got.. The Viking model is a humbucker designed to sound like a YJM Fury neck model. But side by side instead of the stacked coils.. Worry Not.. I am working on a "demo" to showcase these pickups.. and will post here when it's ready. =)

Rock on!
Mate, these sound cool. What are they going to look/sound like?

I'm liking that - sounds like the WOTL is the opposite to the Black Winter. So, do you say 'I'd like a Distortion but, with xyz instead of standard' or do you go from a blank sheet of paper?

I'm going from blank sheet and going with their expertise.

Re: List your Guitars and pickups in them

I actually told MJ what I wanted.. but " in terms" of comparison with other pickups.. and then re-emphasized the "qualities" I needed. My primary axe is a bit bright.. so a Distortion I am afraid would possibly get ice picky.. but I don't want an invader in that axe.. So I told her something like a Distortion in output.. BUT with LESS HIGHS (bright guitar).. and MORE mids and lows... Lots of harmonics and clarity (I'm a very staccato player and mute alot).. no "mud." Basically a nice "tight" Distortion with less highs and more balls... =)

For the neck it was easy.. Told her wanted the Fury NECK model.. but to fit a humbucker neck position.. but had to SOUND like a Fury.. She had to consult with the Engineering dept for that one and worked with the same guys who worked with Yngwie on developing his prototypes... I'll find out hopefully SOON if it worked. =)

Ahh, that's perhaps what I've done wrong. I'm looking for a tone that isn't in SD stock essentially and so, hasn't got anything tangible to be compared to.

The name is Tornado and I want it to sound a cross between the weather phenomenon and the fighter jet - only angrier and more vicious.
