:smoker: Thinkin about putting a lil '59 in my Strat bridge. I play 70's hard-rock music, would this be a good choice? :feedback:

Re: Little 59 for hard rock?

sure.

the lil 59 has a thicker tone and more output than a typical single coil strat bridge but isnt as over the top as the hot rails. i like the tone and with your vox you should be able to get a wide variety of cool hard rock tones

Re: Little 59 for hard rock?

thanks Jeremy...might have been the best piece of advice i've gotten up to date.

 forgot to ask if using a 500k volume and tone pot would be better...any tips there?

Re: Little 59 for hard rock?

try it with a 250k volume and no tone control and if thats not bright enough then swap the volume to 500k

the reason i say try the 250k first is the rest of the pups will probably sound better with the 250k in there, i say no tone control to open up the top end some

Re: Little 59 for hard rock?

The Lil '59 is great for 70s style hard rock. I found a 250k volume pot was plenty bright enough. I used a tone control with mine too - Strat bridge position can be very bright and I like to be able to roll some of the top end off.
